Before putting on the hose, first cover the foot with a plastic bag, A gallon ziplock bag with the top cut off works well. Then slip on the hose over the arch and ankle, a bit a time pulling/pushing it up to mid-calf or higher. From there you can smooth it up over the knee to the top of the thigh. When the end of the hose reaches the toes simply push the end to the mid arch and pull out the plastic bag, then pull the hose from the arch to cover the toes.
