Our House Shelter

Our House Shelter mission is to empower homeless and near-homeless families and individuals to succeed in the workforce, in school, and in life through hard work, wise-decision making and active participation in the community. Our goal is to permanently move our clients out of homelessness. We have found success through our unique, two generational, holistic approach. In the last year, 87% of our families were stably housed after 12 months in our program; over 469 clients found employment with over 200 unique employers; 732 clients received mental health services; 69% of our clients left our program with savings. We can achieve this impact through our wrap-around services that provide housing, case management, career services and employment opportunities, childcare, and mental & physical health services to our clients. In fiscal year 2024, we served over 854 adults and children in our housing program. Our housing program includes a dormitory style shelter as well as two family houses. This spring we will break ground on an additional family housing building with 44 additional beds. We are the only program in the state of Arkansas that can provide housing to homeless families of any configuration. Thus, we provide housing and services to single fathers, single mothers, two-parent families, families that include grandparents, etc.

What we need most

Our House houses an average of over 100 people each night and feeds residents breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day of the year. Our House's greatest food needs in the Shelter Program are ingredients to prepare healthy meals for our residents. We cook with whole-ingredient staples, including protein options like chicken, beef and pork, dairy options like eggs, cheese and milk, and vegetable options like salad ingredients, green beans, corn, and potatoes. We also need bread options like toast, rolls, cereals, cakes, cookies, and bagels.

Our House Shelter is a non-profit organization.
