Family Promise of Washington County

As the only homelessness resource in Washington County, Wisconsin, our team is dedicated to ending homelessness with a compassionate approach. By offering resources and services to individuals and families at risk, we aim to rebuild lives and provide a safe and stable housing solution. Our organization provides a continuum of care, supporting those experiencing homelessness from their initial call for help until they secure housing. We are committed to assisting our clients every step of the way. Housing Hotline: Our housing helpline is available 24/7, every day of the year, and serves individuals and families who are at risk of homelessness or need help with essential resources. If emergency shelter is needed, our experienced staff will assess the situation and direct them to the appropriate services. This resource can be accessed at 262-334-4912. Emergency Shelter Services: The shelter program is designed to help individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness in the community. The Promise Center emergency shelter space can hold up to 56 unique individuals. Our committed team works closely with each household, helping them find housing and connect with community resources. We make sure that all their basic needs are taken care of and have staff available 24/7 for support and advocacy. Homeless Prevention: The prevention program offers financial assistance to households at risk of eviction, allowing them to afford their rent. This aid guarantees that families can maintain a stable residence, prevent homelessness, and meet their essential needs. Our goal is always to prevent homelessness whenever we can, before individuals or families end up needing to access our emergency shelter. Case Management: Our Case Managers offer case management services to anyone at risk of homelessness in the community.

What we need most

Our best option is snack foods like granola / energy bars or cup of noodles etc, along with bottled water, juice (and other drinks!!) as well. Our primary goal is to get food that is ready to eat (or microwave ready), quick meals and snacks are top of the list. Ingredient foods are not as helpful, despite our shelter having kitchens, because not as many clients have cooking skills when they enter into our program. We also are in need of disposable gloves, as a high need for shelter right now. This piece of PPE has become less available for our staff as COVID concerns have lessened in our area, but we still take our staff safety at the highest priority.
