HIS House

HIS House exists to assist individuals and families experiencing homelessness to regain self-sufficiency. Originally established by the Placentia Presbyterian Church in 1989, HIS House has grown to provide a continuum of care to meet the unique needs of the homeless and impoverished community. Since its inception, HIS House has provided shelter and supportive services to more than 4,000 homeless men, women, and children. HIS House is designed to successfully transition homeless individuals and families off of the streets and into safe, stable, permanent housing. When a homeless family enters our program, they need a safe place in a loving community that will help them overcome their emotional, spiritual and physical trauma. Supportive services include but are not limited to one-on-one case management, counseling, daily meals, family reunification, vocational training, mental health care referrals, legal assistance, financial education, parenting classes, and after school tutoring. Our staff is available 24-hours a day to help them achieve their personal goals, secure employment, and develop a healthy self-perspective towards a life of independence and self-sufficiency. Last year, 85% of the families that graduated from our program maintained permanent housing and economic stability for at least 12 months.
