George W Harris Youth Shelter

George Harris is a 501 C3 who serves the children of Polk, Hardy, and Highlands Counties. We are a 24 bed facility who service males and females in need of respite care, community beds, who are in need of placement from the Departments of children and families, the Department of Juvenile Justice, homeless, and runaway children. We operate under the Basic Center and Safe Place grants with an emphasis on a stabile and nurturing environment for the children that reside here. We offer onboard individual and family counseling, life skills coaching, with an emphasis on educational, family, and personal improvement.
