Somerville Homeless Coalition
The mission of the Somerville Homeless Coalition is to provide homeless and near homeless individuals and families with individualized supportive services and tailored housing solutions with a goal of obtaining and maintaining affordable housing. SHC has operated two shelters since starting the organization back in 1985. One shelter is individuals who are experiencing homelessness and are looking for a safe and warm place to stay. This shelter allows individuals to stay at the shelter for as long as they need in order to obtain housing. The second shelter is a family shelter which can support 5 families at a time. This shelter also allows families to stay as long as they need. Both shelters provide support, care and compassion to ensure all guests are able to move towards their goals.

What we need most
items for the kids snack bags: juice boxes, chips, granola bars, fruit snacks other items: bottled water, individual things of cereal, pasta, fruit, coffee, beans, sauce, mac and cheese, breakfast items. Our guests have access to a kitchen in which they cook their own food so we are flexible with what we receive. We receive minimal donations for breakfast however so that is a gap we are looking to fill.
Somerville Homeless Coalition is a non-profit organization.
