Is the building suitable for my area?
At the Betty Mills Company, we want to be sure your purchase fits your needs. However, regardless of where or how you buy a shed, storage building or other outdoor structure, please be aware that it is your responsibility to determine whether or not you will need a building permit, and to determine what the requirements are to meet local building codes or other rules that apply in your locality. You can contact your local building code authorities for such information. Laws, ordinances, regulations, restrictions, covenants, and other codes or rules that apply to sheds, storage buildings or other outdoor structures in which you may be interested vary from State to State and from locality to locality. These codes or rules are also subject to change. The Betty Mills Company shall not be held responsible for violations or the consequences of any violations of codes or rules that may arise from your obtaining or assembling items purchased from The Betty Mills Company.
The Betty Mills Company understands that disposing of an item you cannot use because you cannot obtain a required building permit is inconvenient, emotionally frustrating, and expensive. To avoid this, please confirm that the merchandise will meet your needs PRIOR TO PURCHASE.
Will someone help me erect my storage building?
Unfortunately, there is no physical help provided for assembling storage buildings through the Betty Mills Company. However, each storage building comes with an instruction manual for assembly, which can also be viewed online prior to purchase. NOTE: The product manuals are for reference only. Please be sure to refer to the manual that accompanies your purchase. It is strongly recommended that the consumer review these manuals prior to purchase as individual skill levels do vary. The Betty Mills Company is not responsible for any costs that may be incurred during the installation of your storage building. The Betty Mills Company is not able to make recommendations for contractors to aid in installation.
Are the storage buildings weather resistant?
For areas that experience severe weather conditions it is best to confirm that the shed, storage building or outdoor structure selected is suitable for your area. Specification sheets can be made available by calling 1-800-BETTYMILLS and speaking with a representative in our Sales Department.
Additionally, it is not unusual for any metal building to condensate. Condensation can be reduced by the consumer taking certain steps, but cannot be eliminated entirely during temperature changes. Sheds and storage buildings are not watertight. Be sure to refer to your owner's manual for the care and maintenance of your particular shed, storage building or other outdoor structure.
What should I store in my storage building?
Our sheds, storage buildings and other outdoor structures are generally designed for storing such items as lawn mowers and other garden equipment. It is never recommended to store clothing, furniture or other personal household items that might be sensitive to moisture in the buildings.
