Orfit Classic soft thermoplastic splinting material is a non-perforated sheet sized 18 inch x 24 inch x 1/8 inch. It fits orthotic fabrication workflows that need close molding around anatomic contours, from very small to very large orthoses. The non-coated material sticks easily to itself and outrigger attachments, turns transparent when ready for molding, and bonds permanently with dry heat.
Good Fit For
- Orthotic fabrication needing close contour molding
- Workflows using outrigger attachments
- Very small to very large orthoses
Key Features
- Soft Orfit Classic material supports accurate molding around anatomic contours
- Non-perforated sheet offers a solid surface for fabrication needs
- Non-coated material sticks easily to itself and outrigger attachments
- Temporary bonding during fabrication can become permanent when exposed to dry heat
- Material turns transparent when ready for molding for better visibility during fabrication
- 18 inch x 24 inch x 1/8 inch sheet works across very small to very large orthoses
Applications and Usage
- Forming orthoses that need accurate molding around anatomic contours
- Fabrication steps where visual confirmation during heating and molding is helpful
- Projects that benefit from material sticking to itself during assembly
- Building orthoses that use outrigger attachments
Packaging and Handling
- Packaging: EA.
- This is the soft version, selected when increased molding around contours matters more than the added support of the stiff version.
- The sheet is non-perforated, so buyers looking for airflow or weight reduction may want a perforated version instead.
- Permanent bonding occurs with dry heat, which may affect fabrication workflow and rework planning.
