Orfit Classic Soft thermoplastic splinting material is a maxi-perforated sheet for creating orthoses. It fits clinics and fabrication settings that need a material that sticks to itself and outrigger attachments during forming, then bonds permanently with dry heat. This Soft version is sized 18 inch x 24 inch x 1/12 inch and is made for accurate molding around anatomic contours.
Good Fit For
- Orthosis fabrication in clinical settings
- Shaping around detailed anatomic contours
- Workflows that use outrigger attachments
- Projects ranging from very small to very large orthoses
Key Features
- Soft Orfit Classic material supports accurate molding around anatomic contours
- Non-coated surface sticks easily to itself and to outrigger attachments during fabrication
- Temporary bonding during fabrication becomes permanent when exposed to dry heat
- Material turns transparent when ready for molding for better visibility during fabrication
- Maxi-perforated sheet helps buyers select the specific perforation style needed
- Suitable for creating very small to very large orthoses
Applications and Usage
- Fabricating custom orthoses from a thermoplastic sheet
- Molding material around anatomic contours where a softer stretch profile is preferred
- Building orthoses that require temporary tack during setup and permanent bonding with dry heat
- Monitoring readiness during heating by watching for the material to turn transparent
Packaging and Handling
- Packaging: EA.
- This is the Soft version, intended for increased stretch rather than the added support of the Stiff version
- Bonding changes with heat: temporary during fabrication and permanent when exposed to dry heat
- Choose the maxi-perforated format when that perforation pattern matches your fabrication preference
